Arty Adventures: My Very First Bloggers Event!

On Tuesday I attended London Graphic Centre's private event for 'creative bloggers' with the loveliest bunch of arty people you ever will meet. It's such a strange concept having a gathering of people you've never met, yet you know so much about them and their lives!!! As this was my first ever opportunity to attend a blogging event since starting this up 18 months ago I was super nervous of how experienced and professional everybody else's sites looked. Having just come from a long day of work experience and my first day back at uni I was also pretty knackered and therefore I ended up being way too quiet and probably coming across as really shy....I'm not normally I promise! But I feel almost as though I slightly wasted the opportunity to chat in depth to all these fabulous illustrators, designers and photographers, that being said I hope we will meet again and there is always 'online' in the mean time!

The London Graphic Centre kindly gave us all a goody bag which included over £50 worth of 'taster' items - each carefully selected from the stationery heaven which is their store! The bag itself was also a new launch, with it's designer talking to us about how he'd taken the concept of Magritte's "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" to create their "This is not a pencil" design, which is printed on their signature red. If you want to get your hands on one of these bags full of bits and bobs - from promarkers to fabriano notebooks - then get yourself down to student day which will be taking place in the Covent Garden store on 6th October and will be full of fun activities and doughnuts and stuff ;) Once we'd finished in the meeting room and eaten all the food we headed back downstairs to test out a bunch of their stuff with screen printing, a mini letterpress stamping kit, giant colouring sheets and some 'media embargoed' pens (I'm not allowed to talk about/show close ups yet) all being on offer to try out! We were all also given a 25% off VIP discount card to use forever, which was the loveliest loveliest surprise EVER. The whole atmosphere was incredibly laid-back and there wasn't a single person in the room who wasn't full on amazing (...except maybe me!)!! :D
